Art is a symbol of independence that enables humankind to realize emotion and thought in different ways. Nowadays, some of researchers have sought relationship between art and science. Yes, da Vinci is one of them who had applied scientific methods in his artistic works. Furthermore, how does a physical phenomenon examined ? There are some keywords that surely give hints about relation of science and art. Let me describe some of these words in accordance with comparison that stump us. I call them artistic synonyms: Scientific - Artistic Experiment - Observation Analytic & Numerical Simulation - Draft & Sketch Results - Artwork Even if connotations of scientific words seem like different from artistic ones, they are same in theory. The changes come through application of methods. For instance, evolution of airfoil and wind tunnel test had been realized by Leonardo da Vinci at 15th century. Drafts of da Vinci have been specified through Da Vinci's Demons (TV Series 2013–2015). Anyway, Is there any artwork regarding turbulence in a scientific method ? Yes, there is. One of the recent videos of TED-Ed (Educational section of TED) have examined the artwork "Starry Night" of Van Gogh: How did he sketched one of the most complicated phenomenon ? Did he examine scientific papers and use commercial solver to find a realistic result ? Absolutely no. He was the observer and observed nature perfectly. We have a turbulent poem, also. Lewis Fry Richardson (1881-1953), an English scientist, he was also interested in atmospheric turbulence and performed many terrestrial experiments. The Richardson number, a dimensionless parameter of the theory of turbulence is named for him. He famously summarised turbulence in rhyming verse in Weather Prediction by Numerical Process: Big whirls have little whirls that feed on their velocity, and little whirls have lesser whirls and so on to viscosity. The relation among science and art is further than a close friendship. Have a funny day, everyday.
