Design software is one of the important elements of engineering process to generate a suitable model for the purpose of meshing and analyzing. ANSYS designmodeler has an anti-user friendly interface results in being unpopular among analyzer. Therefore, I have used UG, Solidworks, Catia and others since last year. Actually, my perseverance to using NX UG was high and I didn't dare to a new design software but... I have no idea about SpaceClaim ever since I have met it within a casual Ansys promotion. Now, my faith in love have exhilarated with SpaceClaim. Not only 3D design but also 2D surface/sheet modelling tools of it are stunning. Auxiliary commands are awesome. If you are a redesigner (I mean that clean/adjust poor structures to preparing it meshing process), you shoul try SpacaClaim at least once. You may prevail over all bad structures. To sum up, Ansys has purchased a stunning design software and would be prefered within overwhelming majority by designers coming years. These is still some bugs through part importing process from another software but I'm sure It will have been solved soon. I am one of those person who takes a screenshot in case encounter within interesting sketch/design or a thing. One day, when I was using SpaceClaim to design a sheet metal for my 2D analysis, I was also googling to find some stuffs to improve my sketch (of course I was taking screenshots and pasting them paint within Ctrl+v). Once I had a screenshots, I pasted it to SpaceClaim by mistake and what happened ? Check the screenshots below (as an example): Yes, there is. Not an outstanding feature but there are lots of them that make SpaceClaim excellent. You could obtain training through online sources. A lot of designer publish videos related to SpaceClaim as a tutorial. I definitely advice you to learn it. It indeedly makes sense. Here is an official tutorial that released by Ansys Inc. Enjoy your design.
